NaNoWriMo 2013 in the Bag

If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter this isn’t news to you, but yesterday morning I passed the 50,000-word milestone for my third full-length novel. This is exciting for a few reasons.

1.) I’m done with NaNoWriMo at a record-setting date for me (my previous earliest finish was 11/29).
2.) This means I have more than 50,000 words in progress on my novel.
3.) I’ve only come this far on two other books. One is going to be published next month and the other is in editing — so I’m taking this as a good sign.

Thank you to everyone who supported me through this process. This includes everyone who submitted football player name ideas. I’ve worked several of them into the novel already. It was fun to know I was bringing a little piece of my friends into this new story.

There’s still plenty of work to go on finishing this manuscript. For one, I have to get to the end. But this is a huge milestone worth celebrating. Here’s hoping I can turn this achievement excitement into future writing success.
